PROFESSOR PAOLO DARIO MODERATES PANEL AT THE ROBOTICS GLOBAL COLLOQUIA INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE: A NEW SERIES OF ONLINE EVENTS DEDICATED TO ROBOTICS RESEARCH THAT IS CHANGING THE WORLD
Paolo Dario moderates the panel discussion at the Robotics Global Colloquia, a new series of online live events organized by the Foundation of Robotics Research (IFRR), featuring speakers from academia and industry. The Colloquia events provide a platform for open discussion and interaction on robotics research and applications. On Thursday, June 18, 2020, a live stream for the 1st Robotics Global Colloquia event (https://zoom.us/j/97814461788) is scheduled to take place at 4.00 pm in Zoom. Sant’Anna School professor Paolo Dario from the Institute of Biorobotics as the Rector’s Delegate appointed to the third mission activities, moderates the panel discussion on surgical robotics as advanced technology facilitating innovative solutions and disruptive transformation driven by the COVID crisis.
To empower clinical staff and enhance patient care, robotics research has moved forward to deliver the changes needed to face the pandemic. To improve resilience to the changing landscape, world experts in the field of surgical robotics will participate in this first Colloquium to ensure that the transformative changes are not lost: Paolo Dario, Kanako Harada (University of Tokyo), Tim Lüth (Technical University of Munich), and Catherine Mohr (Director of Medical Research at Intuitive Surgical), will answer the following questions: what is state-of-the-art in surgical robotics today?; what are the top five challenges that we have not solved yet?; what will be the progress in surgical robotics next five years?; how did COVID-19 change surgical robotics?
The Colloquia are bi-weekly events, scheduled every other Thursday. The series’ goal is to engage both scientific and public communities across the globe in current issues and developments, with a format alternating between panels on broad themes and speakers on specific topics.
